Senator Gaston Shares New Laws Starting Oct. 1

From State Senator Herron Gaston:

Beginning October 1, Connecticut will see roughly 60 new laws go into effect. These include a new standard for online services to obtain the consent of children under 18 before collecting their personal data, while children under 13 will need parental approval. Others include new safety measures for home health aides and nurses, part of this year’s landmark Senate Bill 1 health care bill; a revamped Aquatic Invasive Species fee that will change costs for boats and increases to the state’s list of invasive plants; expansion of access to benefits for the families of first responders who die in the line of duty; and property tax exemptions for military veterans with 100% disability ratings.
