Get with the program, it you don’t agree to the one fixed price the city is spending money to promote, you should not be promoted.

I also noticed that some restaurants that were previously touted as going to participate this year are absent from the list.
From June 24 to July 1? Just when rent and all other bills are due. Just when picnic season starts. The only person I could think of who would probably participate is our old OIB friend Warren all you can eat buffet.

I’ve worked on Restaurant Week here in Trumbull, and years ago in Hamden.
Restaurants want this promotion to take place on a slow week to fill otherwise empty tables and expose new customers to their offerings. No restaurant needs to give things away at reduced prices at the time of the month when customers are flush with cash.
Restaurant Week is about support for the businesses (which is why this is generally put on by Economic Development Departments) not convenience of the patrons.

why week and not month? Restaurants can’t afford to sell at reduced prices long term. The goal of Restaurant Week is to attract diners who do not frequent a participating restaurant, not to give discounts to regulars.
Trumbull’s Restaurant Week was quite successful in the fall of 2022. We held discussions with participating restaurants about extending the time period (Friday-Friday) this year. The overwhelming restaurant response was that they could not afford to sacrifice full price sales on two successive weekends.
Often I ignore your comments, but you raised good questions and the explanations may be beneficial to OIB readers. Not surprised that no one from the Ganim Admin bothered to answer or explain anything.
