Milling And Paving Of Roads

News release from Mayor Joe Ganim:

Mayor Ganim today announced that the City of Bridgeport will begin the process of milling Thursday, June 28th through Friday, July 6th to prepare roads for paving. The milling process will remove the current surface area of the road to level and smooth for pavement. Following the milling process throughout the city, roads will be paved during the week of July 16th through July 20th.

During this time, drivers are advised of the following:

o Adhere to “No Parking” signs that will be posted to roadways 24 hours prior to milling and paving. These areas will be enforced and towing will take place if a car is parked on a road that is planned to be milled or paved.

o Follow the detour signs that will be posted while milling and paving are taking place. Please plan accordingly and understand that it may take extra time to get to your destination.

o Drive carefully and look out for raised structures and manhole covers that may be exposed and raised during the milling process.

A second phase of milling and paving will take place in September 2018. For more information, visit the City of Bridgeport Public Facilities website at www.Bridgeportct.gov/PublicFacilities.

  1. Ron, sometimes all we get from individuals running for public office are the perks the residents are entitled to anyway, especially since the high taxes in Bridgeport pay for them. I’m happy that Harding H.S. has benefited from the two gubernatorial candidates, do you think either of them would make that gesture if they were not trying to score votes. I’ll give a short observation I made today while scrolling through Facebook; my Council Rep, Marcus Brown, was using social media to instruct and inform the residents of the City, not the district he represents, but the whole City of a project that falls within the purvue of Public Works. I texted him to ask if he was working as a media spokesperson for the Administration or perhaps Public Works. Well, it turns out he was looking for free exposure on social media. His response to me was disrespectful, not surprising coming from one who looks like a grown man but has a brain still in the process of developing. My point is, politics is used by candidates, and those trying to cut corners to remain a candidate.

  2. It would be nice to see a list of the streets to be paved.

Or, are council members getting offers for streets in their district in return for their vote ( or silence ) on an upcoming issue.

  3. Lisa, have you noticed that council members have their own facebook pages, yet there is nothing on the city website such as a bio or their qualifications?

They control the nonsense that gets posted.

How do they pay for it? Taxpayers.

  4. I’m well aware of that Tom. Slick, don’t you think. The problem is that most of those commenting on that facebook page don’t live in the district and can’t vote here. Hindside is cheap, one of the two representatives is a true chameleon, he has an impulsive behavior that presents the darker side of his personality as thuggish. Once I make some voters aware of this disrespect toward people of a certain age, they won’t take that kindly.

    1. This is the last time I will respond to your comments Lisa Parziale so let’s clear the air. I have been nothing but thankful to you up until this point. I don’t know if you’ve stopped taking your medication or you need some prescribed, but I encourage you to seek help either way. You say my partner Kyle comes from good “breed” Does that mean white? You also now say I have a “thuggish personality”. Interesting! You’ve insulted my canvassers on several occasions, even using the words “dirty” and “scary” my canvassers were 17 year old students who were African American, that attended Central High School and Bassick High School. I’ve heard those terms being used by someone else like you. If you can’t figure out who I’m talking about here’s a hint, you were both Presidents. Lisa please stop commenting on my Facebook, I would hate for my mom to see how you talk to me. Lastly before I forget because remember I still have a developing brain, Thank you for your help during my election.

  5. Marcus you poor, naive thing. I baited you just enough with the truth to show readers what I’ve been commenting about. Choose your friends and associates carefully, especially in politics. Remember, you haven’t even made it out of Council boot camp yet. You sound and act like another blogger, who I won’t mention since he hasn’t interfered with my problem with you. It would behoove you to engage with those men and women who have been tested over many years in the art of politics. I would further suggest you mind your business as it relates to my interaction and engagement with Kyle. He’s a scholar and a gentleman, that results from good breeding, manners, respect and other personal values, unfortunately, none of which you possess. Now come on big guy, keep it going and I’ll give you more, or, you can run away like the immature man-boy you are.
