Bridgeport Day For Governor Lamont With Visits To West End Revitalization Project And Zoo

Governor Ned Lamont is scheduled to make two stops in Bridgeport today (Friday), the first at noon to join developers Gary Flocco and Geof Ravenstine and community leaders in a groundbreaking ceremony for Phase III of the Cherry Street Lofts adaptive reuse project in the West End.

This phase of the project includes brownfield remediation, and construction of a supermarket and retail space, creating an estimated additional 250 permanent jobs in the community, according to the developers.

The governor will then head over to Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo where he will encourage families to participate in the state’s Connecticut Summer at the Museum program. Created in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program permits all Connecticut children age 18 and under, plus one accompanying adult, to receive free admission at more than 90 museums throughout the state. The full list of participating museums is available at www.ctsummermuseums.com.
