“See something. Say something.”
The phrase is often used to encourage folks to report something in view that may offer witness details to an incident, or an accident, or merely something that seems unusual to a member of the community. From the Police Department point of view, it is how a cooperating community can provide assistance to public safety leadership in helping them stay on a productive track.
So I wish to salute the Police Department with the shortage of able officers to cover the bases of public safety need including:
* Promoting awareness of what a career (and a new contract) can offer to candidates
* Reaching out whenever the Chief speaks to point out the advantages of serving the public in the special manner that officers can
* Stepping up to assisting youth with activities that engage them physically, mentally, and morally
Results are likely to follow. Time will tell.
